Meet The Staff
Hygienists
Heidi, R.D.H.
Heidi first began working with patients in our office as a temporary hygienist at the beginning of 2012. We were lucky enough to have her join our skilled team as a full-time hygienist in February 2013. That same year, Heidi earned her certification in Laser Assisted Periodontal Therapies. A graduate of MATC in Madison with over 35 years of experience in the dental industry, Heidi’s diverse background draws on skills learned over time in her various roles as a dental assistant, dental laboratory technician and a registered dental hygienist. Heidi prides herself in staying current with the latest dental treatments and technology to provide you with the personalized treatment you deserve.
Heidi feels that one of the best parts of working in a smaller family practice is that it provides an opportunity to really get to know our patients as individuals, families and even multiple generations of families. Having worked at larger offices where this type of patient/provider connection is not always possible, she takes pride in and values the relationships that she establishes every day.
Heidi currently lives in Baraboo. Outside of the office, Heidi enjoys camping, swimming, kayaking, and is learning how to fish. Heidi also enjoys throwing darts, watching the Packers, and trying new supper clubs throughout the state.
Katie, R.D.H.
A 2003 graduate of MATC-Madison, Katie has honed her skills over the years, gaining a great deal of her experience at Karas Dental where she began working in 2006. Katie first started working with our patients as a temporary hygienist in 2012. We were lucky enough to have her join our caring team as a full-time hygienist in June 2015. Katie’s gentle, yet thorough approach ensures that even the most apprehensive patients are comfortable and feel ‘at ease.’ A firm believer in professional growth, Katie prides herself in staying current with the latest dental treatments and technology. Katie has completed her certifications in Laser assisted Periodontal Therapies and Administration of Nitrous Oxide.
Katie loves the family feel of our practice and working with a team whose goal is to provide exceptional dental care to every patient. She believes that our focus on education helps our patients to better understand the importance of daily home care and the direct connection between home care and our overall health.
Katie currently resides in Reedsburg with her dogs, Timber the Boxer and Rocky the French Bulldog. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, reading, shopping, traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
Becky, R.D.H.
With over 20 years of experience serving the Baraboo, Sauk & Wisconsin Dells communities, we were pleased to welcome Becky to our team in 2022. While attending Madison Area College’s Dental Hygiene Program, Becky started her career as a dental assistant in 2000. Graduating in 2003 with an Associate’s Degree she has furthered her dental knowledge through her dedication to continuing education, receiving her local anesthesia license and a soft tissue laser certification. Becky is also a proud member of the Sauk County Health Department, traveling to various schools and working with children to educate them on the importance of good oral health.
A Baraboo native and Baraboo High School alum, Becky enjoys working in her hometown and looks forward to seeing many familiar faces. Having been a patient of the practice as a child, Becky feels that it is a ‘dream come true’ to work at the office that her previous dentist (Dr. Konen) helped to establish. She enjoys working along side Dr. Ganshert, whose gentle hands, warm heart and calming personality put patients at ease. Becky feels that the highly skilled team and thorough approach to care at Downtown Family Dental of Baraboo are a perfect fit for her as they promote a passionate environment. Rest assured that Becky will always greet you with a warm friendly smile and provide the most gentle, yet comprehensive care possible.
Becky is married to the love of her life, Brent. They met at Summer Bible School at the age of 6 and have been best friends ever since. Becky and her husband are blessed with two amazing teenage daughters and two rescue dogs. In their free time Becky and her family are avid outdoorsy people who enjoy traveling and attending sports events of all kinds!
Dental Assistants
Coty joined our practice in January of 2001. She came to our office with dental experience from her work in the U.S. Army, where she received her certification as a dental technician. From 2001 until 2005 she assisted Dr. Konen and when we moved to the newer office location here on 3rd street, she primarily assisted Dr. Ganshert. Assuming a universal assisting roll, she has provided chairside assistance to many doctors in our practice over the years. Her favorite part about working in our office is the relationships that she has been able to develop over the years with both patients and colleges. She enjoys coming along side anxious patients and loves to help restore patient’s ability to smile. Her loyalty, dependability, reliability, in-depth knowledge of the office and her outgoing, positive attitude all contribute to the professional environment of our office.
When not at work, you can find her helping her husband with the many needs of their family farm. Coty and her husband Steve have one son, Joseph and two daughters, Evelyn and Edith. They recently acquired a fur baby, a mini goldendoodle named Sophie. Her most frequent other home is at church, where teaches Sunday School, sings and makes meals for people in need. She loves to bake treats and spoil her nephews and nieces who she is blessed to see whenever she can!
Bobbie
Bobbie joined our team in October 2015. With over 28 years of experience in the dental industry, she brings a great deal of knowledge and skill sets to help assist both our patients and Doctor.
Staying current in the latest procedures and technologies remains a priority for Bobbie. Each year she attends continuing education courses to keep her at the ‘top of her game’ and she uses the learned information to better educate our patients about the importance of oral health. She attained her CEREC design proficiency certification in 2008 and today, with years of design experience under her belt, Bobbie acts as our office’s lead CEREC assistant. Bobbie feels that some of the best parts about working at our practice are being valued, working as an entire team, being patient goal oriented, the variety of patient care that we offer and being able to help patients feel more confident about their smiles.
Bobbie and her husband, Jim, live in Elroy with their rescue dog. She also enjoys being mom to three grown sons and a German Shephard grandson. Family time is very important to Bobbie. In her free time she also enjoys UTVing, reading, gardening, cooking, collecting old cookbooks, and traveling.
